As per ancient scriptures, Ashwath (अश्वत्थ) was the tree under which Lord Buddha meditated and gained a lot of knowledge. In Hindi, Ashwath means “The Knowledge Source”. The prefix Ashwa (अश्व) in Sanskrit means “horse” and the name is associated with few events in mythology denoting strength and valour.
